Available Variants:
- Specimen Cutting Die - Type A
- Specimen Cutting Die - Type B
- Specimen Cutting Die - Type C
- Trouser Tear Specimen Cutting Die - Type T
Compliance Standards:
- ASTM D624
Applications:
Type A, Type B And Type C:
- Specimen Cutting Dies for evaluating the tear strength of conventional vulcanized thermoset rubber and thermoplastic elastomers, as described in ASTM D624.
Type T:
- A sharpened metal tool to cut & prepare specimen of textile and coated fabrics.
Notes:
- No warranty is applicable in case of punch die as smooth & uninterrupted operation of dies depends on various other governing factors such as Proper Alignment of dies, Bottom Support, Technical skills of the operator etc.
- This is purely visual and skill based work. Any random un-skilled operator can damage the die and EIE shall not be held responsible for the same.
- Use of Saag Wood / Teak Wood as bottom support to withstand the actual force of press after the specimen has been cut is highly recommend. Die shall not be used without reliable Saag Wood / Teak Wood as bottom support.
Details:
ASTM D624 – Type T:
- A rectangular specimen containing a slit. The force acts along the major axis, the direction of the slit, in a direction parallel to the length. This measures tear propagation and is widely used in the testing of textiles, coated fabrics, and similar materials.
- A Tear Die T die with an integral cutter for producing the slit.
